Hello Dr. Smith,

I have a question about a sudden knee pain I've encountered but I've not injured myself recently to have caused it. It swells from time to time. I've yet to go to a doctor due to lack health insurance. You have any suggested causes of this?

There is a knee pain that is not commonly spoke of as much as other. It's de-aging of the knee. As we get older in the anterior horn of the lateral meniscus begin to degenerate. When a small focus of subchondral marrow edema within the lateral tibial plateau have a high-grade cartilage fissure.

This can cause swelling, pain, and pressure on the knee. There is currently know surgery or particular medication for this other then anti-inflammatory, pain pills, ects….
